OUR HISTORY

Powerhouse of Faith Temple was birthed on December 31, 2010 at a New Year’s Eve service in the home of our founders, Evangelist Toriano and Pastor Angela Highsmith Armstrong.  There were eleven people in attendance including our bishop overseer, Bishop Zella Berry Case, prelate bishop of Adjoining Life Unlimited Ministry, Inc. and pastor of The Church of Promise, who gave us a word of wisdom.  We met for worship service every 1st, 2nd, and 4th Sundays.  The 3rd Sundays were for outreach where we would attend other services that we were led to attend and be a blessing to their ministry.

We established an Intercessory Prayer and Power Moment Teleconference in February, 2011.  We would meet on the teleconference line on the 1st Thursdays of each month at 5:15 a.m. with our Faith Prayer Partners and intercede for others and receive impartation from the Lord.

We continued to meet in the home of our founders until we were given an opportunity in October of 2011 to move our ministry to Durham, NC.  We were in Durham, NC for nine months.  In 2012, we increased our Intercessory Prayer and Power Moment Teleconference to every Thursday morning at 5:15.

In the summer of 2012, we knew that God was calling us to remember the vision and the plan for the ministry.   We began to pray and ask Him to give us a reorganizing plan and clarity as we began to move forward.  After this time of prayer, we restarted our services in the home of our founders with the blessing of our bishop.

In January of 2013, our pastor was led by the Holy Spirit to have an apostolic covering; therefore she submitted under the leadership of Apostle Shirley R. Brown, apostle and pastor of Destiny International Ministries.  We began moving forward with the plan that God has given us.

On April 21, 2013, we had our re-launch - rebirthing service in the home of our founders.  There were 23 in attendance.  A new name was given to us - Powerhouse of Faith Ministry.  We have been catapulted out into to deep to become fishers of men, women, teens, children, and babies.  Our obedience began to open doors for the vision to begin to come to pass.

Today, we are an established intercessory-outreach teaching ministry.  We believe that we are called to deliberately develop disciples one community at a time.  Thus, our ministry has expanded beyond the walls of the house to include ministering at apartment complexes where we teach God's word and inspire men, women, teens, and youth through our transformational living teachings and coaching-mentorship programs.

On January 1, 2015, we officially launched our Intercessory Prayer Ministry, 365 Pray - Served up a daily dose of Scriptural prayer and inspiration.  We meet at 7:00 a.m. everyday on our Transformation Encounter Prayer Line.

Our pastor is happy to say that she is truly operating in obedience and seeing the goodness of the Lord.

"In-reach happens but outreach is a must!"
